Oman Electricity Transmission Company SAOG (OETC), has a vital role in the Oman Electricity Sector, as it owns and operates the main electricity transmission network through which electricity is transmitted from the generating stations to the distribution load centres in all governorates of Sultanate of Oman. The main electricity transmission network operates at high voltages of 132kV and 220kV with new transmission assets at 400kV under construction. OETC also has the responsibility of balancing generation and demand at all times of the day as part of its responsibility for the economic dispatch of power in the Sultanate

OETC load dispatch centre
Oman Electricity Transmission Company monitor and control the whole electricity transmission network from their load dispatch centre in Muscat. 66 substations are connected to their load dispatch centre through substation control systems with RTUs using the IEC 60870-5-101 protocol. The LDC is interconnected to three distribution control centres: Ghubrah Muscat, Samail Mazoon and Sohar Majan
